June is ending. Rains have arrived in full force. Days alternate between yellow and orange alerts for weather. Traffic and flight disruptions are a constant possibility. There are instant pools of water and trash gushing out on streets. A short ride becomes endless with breakdowns and snarls. What are these people about? The frenzy is baffling. Surely there are alternatives. None of us want to try those. For fair reasons perhaps.
I’d give much to not be here. Or any other city… These urban presses with compulsions and pressures. Arrive in 20s. Start work. Start family. Save for rents. Save for education. Save for home. Save some more for higher ed. Sit in an empty nest on 15th floor. Look up from the cubicle and it’s your 60th year. Well done!
